I'm out this piece......talk to you Monday.

Man I just saw the WEIRDEST thing....I was walkin home from class when I saw this guy walk past me carrying what appeared to be a huge fish under his arm. Now this thing had to be, no lie, like 4 or 5 feet long and weighed at least 50 or 60 pounds, maybe more. I dont know if it was fake or what, it looked like a catfish with those weird bug-eyes and like whisker things, and it was like kinda pinkish, if it was fake it was pretty detailed......damn it gives me chills just thinkin about it! I felt like I was in a Dr. Suess book or some kind of nonsense world where people carry fish under their arms like briefcases as they walk down the street. Damn I'm gonna have nightmares about this.

Anyway......for like the past two days I've been studying Russian history for an essay test, I've been goin crazy tryin to remember all these dates and crap. So then finally this afternoon we had the test and she announces that its open-book and open-notes. I was pretty pissed but I couldnt get too mad at her, she did have a stroke pretty recently, shes not old either....I just wish she woulda told us earlier, otherwise I wouldnt have wasted so much time on it. Russian history....who needs it?

Oh yeah I'm goin home tomorrow for the weekend, since I wont be comin home the next weekend (which is fall break)....I'm really lookin forward to it as always.

My girlfriend Jen is visiting TCNJ tonight, then doing some "hardcore" shopping.......just thought you'd like to know :)

Monday, September 24, 2001
Check this out, I heard about a tornado in Maryland today that was pretty bad, and like 2 students at UM died (luckily Mike and Ed's cousin Frank was ok)....anyway some kid put some digital pics of the damage, like cars getting wrecked and stuff, CRAZY, see them here.

I just got this letter in the mail from something called the National Society of Collegiate Scholars....its like this organization that I became a member of last year because of my grades or whatever. They had this ceremony for all of us at Penn State and we got these awesome free pins, I wear mine every day. Anyway, they sent me a letter about the International Mission on Diplomacy....apparently I've been selected to join this thing, because of my "exemplary leadership, outstanding academic performace, and commitment to a career in diplomacy." First of all, I dont know anything about diplomacy, and how am I a leader??? Anyway as part of this thing I'd get to go to either South Africa or Australia for like a week or two, kind of like a study-abroad type deal. Which would be awesome, cuz I've always wanted to go to another country and junk. So this letter goes on and on about how its a great experience, I'd learn all about diplomacy (cuz I'm committed to it and all) and learn a new culture and have tons of fun. So I'm like great, where do I sign up? Then I get to the bottom of the letter, the fine print where it says "applications must include a minimum deposit of $500"...they'd bill me the rest of the $5,074 later. So I was like fuuuuuuuuuuuck that.

Last night we watched Raging Bull, what a great movie.....I highly recommend it.

We also celebrated my roomie's birthday, he turned 20 yesterday, happy bday Paul!

The Giants kicked some ass yesterday, a nice road win against the KC Chiefs in an emotional game.....alot of positives to build on for the rest of the season, and a huge confidence-booster, theyre playing for NY pride.

Speaking of football, looks like Funkmaster J made big leap in our fantasy league standings. Its only a matter of time before I win the thing, the rest of you might as well just give up now.

My latest article is up, please check it out here. The team is now 5-1, they had been ranked No. 16 in the country but they're sure to move up in the standings. Forget football, PSU Men's Soccer is the shiznit.

And speaking of the Collegian, I may have some good news about that soon. Stay tuned.

Well I better start studying for a Social Psychology test tomorrow. It's gonna suck.....you know its bad when you have to unwrap the textbook out of its plastic covering a mere 48 hours before the test.

Read this article, it'll really piss you off....I think as part of this so-called war on terrorism we should "accidentally" nuke Greece too.

Just got back from the football game......another poor showing by Penn State on both offense and defense, we lost 18-6. It was really bad, I mean we couldn't even master the center-to-quarterback snap or tackling on defense, when the fundamentals go wrong you know you have a bad team. Their qb had over 100 yards rushing, because every time a Wisconsin receiver wasnt open he'd just take off.....and of course nobody could catch or tackle him, I mean he was white after all so you know hes got speed. QB Matt Senneca looked like shit but his backup Zack Mills was just as bad. About the only good player in blue and white today was punter David Royer.....and when thats the case, you know its gonna be a long season. The best part of the game was the huge beverage fight in the fourth quarter. Its been a PSU tradition in the student section that after we score, bottled water and sodas go flying...but today it was especially nuts, kids were getting pegged square in the face and about the head with full bottles of water, and gals were getting drenched with coke, it was awesome, I think I got some cool pictures of it too, in between ducking for my life. My roomie Paul even took a hit, he got some fruit punch splash-back on his white shirt, which sucked....but luckily when we were tailgating later, somebody bought him an Osama bin Laden "Wanted Dead or Alive" t-shirt.

Oh and happy birthday wishes to MEGHAN GREENE!!!!

Big game today, Penn State vs. the Wisconsin Badgers.....its only the Lions' second game, they haven't played since Sept. 1....I don't know if thats a good thing or not, It gave us some time to heal injuries, especially quarterback Matt Senneca's injured hand, but then again its very likely that this team could have lost some focus without playing for so long. The reason I say that, was because like last week some backups got arrested at a frat for throwing some guy through a plate glass window or some shit.....which isnt a good thing. But anyway, its an important game, our first Big Ten contest, and the team really needs to get on track with a win...plus Joe Paterno is one win from tying Bear Bryant for all-time coaching victories. The game is being televised on ABC so look for me, I'll be the one in the blue and white, cheering for Penn State.

Ok so I'm sittin here just now mindin my own busines, like 5 minutes ago, when all the sudden my door opens and I see an Indian kid's head pop in. "Oops, my bad yo" he goes and walks out. Alright, I think to myself, an honest mistake, could happen to anyone, and I return to DLing Slayer mp3s. Then like 2 minutes later the door opens again, guess who. This time he walks right on in. "Yo, I am so sorry" he goes, and then its obvious the guy is wasted. "Who you talkin to online tonight?" he asks. (I've never seen this guy before in my life, mind you.) "Oh just some people," I say, hoping that the guy doesnt try to rape me. "Daaamn!" he says, in reference to my AIM buddy list....apparently 5 buddies is a whole lot. Oh and I forgot to mention, while looking at my computer he pats me on the head. Just as I'm about to turn around and sneak him, he decides to leave. But before he goes, he leaves me with this nugget of wisdom: "Dude, remember, just because you're white...don't ever let the man keep you down." "Alright man" I say...."Good...you're a smart kid," he replies, then tells me goodnight, shuts the door, and stumbles on down the hall. Man...drunk people are awesome.

My latest article is available here, and damn does it have a stupid headline, I really gotta find out who came up with that gem.

Well I gotta get some sleep.....gotta rest up for the big football game tomorrow, PSU-Wisconsin, GO LIONS.

Special Happy Birthday wishes to my good friend Edward Slavin, who turned 18 today (note to self: he's finally legal, yesss)

SLIPKNOT concert OCTOBER 26 at the Bryce Jordan Center....FLOOR SEATS BABY!! Me, Alan and, Matt tearing it up Jersey Style... SYSTEM OF A DOWN too, they should be awesome as well.....and Rammstein, Mudvayne, and American Head Charge too.....Can't wait!

I've added yet another cd review, for Alien Ant Farm's ANThology. Read it.

A sign of the times:

Late last night I was walkin home along College Ave. from the radio station when I almost witnessed a racially-motivated incident involving two drunks, a white guy and a guy of middle-eastern descent. The white guy was in pretty bad shape, he was sittin on a bench and looked like he was gonna pass out...the other guy was coming out of the Uni-Mart and he too appeared to be intoxicated just a bit, anyway, the white guy starts yellin "Hey Osama!" at the other guy, who looked confused at first and then pretty pissed, so he responded "you better watch it buddy, know what youre talkin about before you say shit." The white guy responds: "Hey Osama!" Middle-eastern guy: "you wanna say that to my face yo?" White guy: "Hey Osama!" Middle-eastern guy: "Whatever man.." as he stumbles away. White guy: "Hey Osama!" That was pretty much it, I was going the opposite way as the middle eastern guy but I could still hear the other guy yellin "Hey Osama!" for like the next 3 blocks.

Today I saw some kid walking around campus smoking a pipe. Not a crack pipe, a pipe, you know, like the kind that are supposed to be used by grandfathers.....and I thought to myself, who does this kid think he is, Sherlock Holmes? Walkin around puffing on his pipe without a care in the world....the nerve!

Tomorrow, tickets go on sale for the Pledge of Allegiance Tour which is coming to State College next month....Slipknot and System of a Down, its gonna be great, and oh yeah Rammstein, Mudvayne and American Head Charge too. Matt and Al are coming up too, hopefully we will get general admission tix, so as Matt put it, we can "rule the pit." Yes!

Roger Clemens made history last night....the Yankees pitcher became the first in major league history to go 20-1, that's 20 wins and 1 loss folks, an outstanding achievement by the 39-year-old Rocket who was supposedly washed up years ago when Boston got rid of him. Once again the Red Sox fans are jealous of New Yorkers, I also heard that fans in Boston and elsewhere around the sports world are really rooting for the Yanks to win the World Series this year because of the tragedies in NYC and whatnot, it would only be fitting, they say, for America's Team to be champions of America's Pastime.....I can't agree more.

In other NY sports news, the Rangers hammered the Devils in preseason action last night 6-1, I did not catch the game but I understand it was an emotional site, being the first NY sports event since the attacks. Eric Lidros apparently looked good in his debut for the Blueshirts too, scoring a goal...so we'll see how that works out.

I got a 90 on that Comm Law test I was so worried about....it turned out to be alot easier than the nightmares I had about it. Is there a better feeling in the world?

My bro Jordan got in his first little fender-bender today, just a few weeks after getting his license...it wasn't his fault though, some old guy forgot to put on his blinker before turning (imagine that) and it was a little too slick for Jord to stop...it's alright though, happens to the best of us, especially when we're young. I won't even go into my famous parked-car incident.

And finally, I added a review of Primer 55's new album, (The) New Release...I also redesigned the cd review page so I suggest you check it out. And check out the About Me page too if you havent already, I worked hard on that.

I've added a lengthy and quite disturbing About Me page for some reason....I guess so you can see what an egomaniacal self-centered bastard I am. Well anyway, please check it out, I bet you'll learn something about me that you didn't already know (or want to know, for that matter)

Some interesting news...

US military jets and bombers are currently heading to the Persian Gulf in what is tentatively being called "Operation: Infinite Justice" (sounds like some kind of role-playing computer game, that or a WWF pay-per-view event). Anyway, apparently there's a few members of Congress who are calling for the US to take out Saddam Hussein while our military is over there. I'm not sure if that's such a good idea right now, I mean we already have one anti-christ we need to focus on....but then again, we are waging a war on "all" terrorism so it might not be too far-fetched. We'll see.

Also, there's an interesting story I saw on the news about some odd trading on Wall Street just before the attacks. I'm no trading expert but from what I can tell, supposedly there was an unusual number of trades or bets that American Airlines and some other airlines' stocks would lose money....like usually there's an even number of traders saying the airline stocks will go up or go down that day, but this was pretty unbalanced. Somebody ended up making well over 5 million dollars that day because obviously the airlines lost tons of money since tuesday. Some people believe that Bin Laden or other terrorists who had knowledge of the attack beforehand went and made all these trades and ended up making out like bandits. Theyre investigating this "inside trading" and trying to track down whoever made the trades....pretty interesting stuff.

Earlier today I was eating some overpriced spaghetti at Sbarro's when I overheard these two dudes having a coversation...one was a pretty stupid looking white guy, your typical college type, the other a large african-american man with corn-rows, they were both pretty big and they looked like they were probably frat brothers. Anyway they were talkin about girls and stuff and the white guy was like "Dude, I never sleep with a chick more than two nights in a row....I do her for two days and then after that I'm like 'get outta here' cuz I'm tired of hearing her talk, know what I mean?" and of course his black counterpart agreed. Boy I was pretty pissed, I mean its assholes like these who give nice guys like me and my friends a bad name just because we are guys. And the funny part is, 99.9% of the girls out there would probably wanna get with these guys too.

Later I had to go to the soccer team's practice cuz I'm working on a preview of their two games this weekend. I was planning on talking to two of the captains, plus the coach. Anyway, when I get there, I notice that they're ending practice early...I see the two guys I wanna talk to go literally running right past me, they pile into the team van and speed off. Apparently they werent too interested in talkin to me. And then I find out the coach had already left practice early. So now they are leaving at 11 am tomorrow for Ohio and if I dont talk to the coach my article is gonna suck, I've been trying to get him on the phone but of course he's gone. I guess I'll just make up some fake quotes. Jk Jk

Finally, check out the new T-Shirts from Bleeding Ground. I can't wait to get one, all I need is some money. They'd make a great bday present (october 21, wink wink)

Man, Conan O'Brien was so weird last night....so serious, and basically unfunny because of the tragedy and whatnot. He had a news correspondant on as a guest and they discussed political and economic implications of the attacks...as my roomie Paul put it, it was the most depressing thing he'd seen all week.

Tuesday, September 18, 2001
Read this article, its about this radio network that owns like 1000 radio stations across the US...they put out a list to their stations of songs they feel are "inappropriate" to play because of last weeks tragedies.....some of them are downright ridiculous! Ok i could see "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," "Burning Down the House" and REM's "The End of the World as we Know It".......but "Imagine" by John Lennon? "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong? And all Rage Against the Machine songs? Give me a break!

According to this article on CNN.com, the FBI is warning that firetrucks could be hijacked and used as bombs. Fire trucks? Now this is getting out of hand....I mean really, come on. What's next, bombers on bikes? Golf carts as deadly weapons of mass destruction? But seriously, that's just sick, and things are getting out of hand. Fire trucks are already being pulled over and searched...which is ridiculous. No matter what people say about our country moving on and whatnot and nothing changing, its not true....things are gonna be alot different in this country for a long time. We can't even trust anybody anymore, our economy is gonna go down the toilet, and we may just be invading a country pretty soon, which means big-time casualties. Crazy shit, and who would have guessed it after all this time of prosperity and peace?

Man I just watched an old-school episode of Seinfeld, Jerry had just recently broke up with Elaine, and get this, Jerry's dad was played by some other actor.....not to mention it wasn't very funny. Now that's crazy.

Well I gotta study some communication law, I have a major test tomorrow on a bunch of Supreme Court cases, and our teacher already warned us on the first day of school that his class is "difficult," he even typed it on the syllabus in underlined type (so you get the point) and added "Even with hard work, you may not do as well as you would like." So then what's the point of working hard, eh Clay Calvert??? I'll refrain from talkin shit about him here, he'd probably seek an injunction in US District Court and sue me for libel under the Due Process clause of the 14th Amendment.

Check out the latest Blog Spot: The Stigs Experience. Anyone else?

But seriously though, I applaud those with the will to create their own vehicle of self-expression.

Slipknot is coming to PSU in october.....I'm working on some plans to go see them. Finally, a good show! Unless you count Tony winner Gregory Hines' upcoming Penn State performance...which i certainly don't.

A few songs to check out:

Carnivore - "USA for USA"
Iced Earth - "Wolf"
Biz Markie - "Nobody Beats the Biz"
Ram Jam - "Black Betty"
Scapegoat Wax - "Aisle 10"
Sugarcult - "Stuck in America"
Neil Young - "Razor Love"
P.O.D. - "Boom"
Stone Temple Pilots - "A Song for Sleeping"
The Haunted - "The World Burns"

There's a little something for everyone, whatever your musical taste may be

I just found out, the dad of some kid in my Comm class died in the WTC attack. Scary?

After that, I took an Art history test and I think I aced it......but then again, what does it matter?

Monday, September 17, 2001
Ok I'll admit it.....Bette Midler's "The Rose" is the greatest song ever recorded. Happy now?

Added a couple new awesome pics.....take a look.

Check out this essay by Mike on his brand new blogger site...interesting.

I have some new pics to update to the site, but I can't do that until i'm done studying this art crap.

Had a pretty good weekend at home.....In these times of tragedy and fear, its good to spend time with the ones we most care about.

The weekend's festivities included a trip to Americana Diner with Jen, Ed, Al, Mark, and Mike...the Steinert vs. Trenton high football game (spartans whipped ass 27-0)....a viewing of the movie Blow (which was pretty good)...and two excellent home-cooked meals.

Check out Jen's new sports pictures.......funny stuff

Friday, September 14, 2001
Now THIS you have to check out.....the "NO Jaybart2's Club".......truly a creative (and hilarious) website, designed and operated by a true web genius, a pioneer, if you will......Mr. Mike Antenucci. Kudos to you sir, even if you are my internet archenemy.

And my latest article is up, even though it sucks: All Penn State soccer games postponed

PS I'm heading home today for the first time this semester........also a first: no bus! Yes!

Thursday, September 13, 2001
Bomb threats in the HUB and Boucke building here on campus today....I was at ground zero, eating my orange chicken and fried rice at Panda Express when the fire alarms went off...pretty scary stuff. What's this world coming too, cant a man enjoy his delicious, and not to mention inexpensive, meal of authentic chinese cuisine without being terrorized?

Anyway, speaking of terror, check out these cool links, courtesy of Matt:

The Shadowlands has everything you ever wanted to know about ghosts and "ghost research", tips for ghost hunting, plus pics of alleged encounters....its even got a nifty Haunted Places Index that gives you a state-by-state list of places that are supposedly haunted....under Pa. its even got some haunted places located on the campus of Penn State....check it out.

Another site to check out is The Willard Library Ghost Cam...its a site for this library in Evansville, Indiana (the home of my baseball idol Don Mattingly) that is supposedly haunted. They have this webcam set up in a couple rooms of the library that update automatically every 30 seconds...so you can watch it and if you see anything suspicious or "ghost-like" you can just right click on the cam and save your pic, they post some of them on the site, so check those out. Theres alot of questionable ones but a few that are downright eerie...images of ghostly people sitting in chairs right next to real live and unsuspecting....its awesome, not to mention hours of mindless entertainment.

And an unrelated site to check out: this poor excuse for a site called "Nuech's Dojo", the personal website of Mike Antenucci. What a copycat...but cool design (done by Ed mind you, not Mike). Sorry for the attack buddy, just kidding. I'm sure it'll get better. And with quotes like "And I can't wait till the happy villagers over in palestine get whats comming to them" and "happy-go-luckey news" I expect big things in the future.

And finally, tonight (hopefully) i'll be on the radio airwaves at 90.7 The Lion WKPS during the Metal Machine show as I continue my DJ training....Ive already reviewed some new cds for the station but now Im ready for the next step...I've finally got my DJ name too. Ready?........."Madman" What? Too gay? I hope not....everyone at the station has to come up with a name that was "metal-related," (i.e. Pyromaniac, Annihilator, Hellion, and Johnny Backdoor)...and since "Corpse-Grinder" was already taken by Alan, I figured the next logical choice would be an Ozzy Osbourne reference (Diary of a Madman - my fave ozzy album). Anyhoo, you still cant hear the broadcast online, but hopefully soon.

Damn that was a long post.

Ok, my 8 AM class was cancelled for the fourth time this year...i think the professor is dying or something. You'd think the least she could do is tell us in advance so we don't have to wake up and walk all the way over there.

All sports events were cancelled for this weekend because of the tragedy...that means no Penn State Nike Classic soccer tournament to cover this weekend. Which also means I'll be heading home for the weekend. Can't wait.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001
History was made today, but for all the wrong reasons. America was under attack this morning by some unknown cowardly terrorists as they hijacked four planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Somerset County PA....details are sketchy right now and we don't know what else will happen, but this is crazy. And Palestinians were on TV dancing in the streets, celebrating and praising god because they struck the "head of the serpent," America. Its really scary and sickening, almost like a nightmare or even a movie. I still can't believe all this is happening....

My latest boring soccer article is up: Wolverines no match for Lions on home turf

I should note, there's a typo in the first paragraph, but it wasn't my fault, I swear!

I'd like to share an awesome poem with you:

I am all that I can be.
I wonder why I am me.
I hear the water hit the sand.
I see a bag of thirty grand.
I want a car that I can see.
I am all that I can be.
I pretend Im someone that cant be beat.
I feel that I would never cheat.
I touch the fork as I eat up.
I worry that I might get bankrupt.
I cry that I am always me.
I am all that I can be.
I understand we all have rights.
I say no more to all these fights.
I say that I am very good
I dream that I am in the hood.
I try to write words with e.
I hope that I am always me.
I am all that I can be.

I had fun visiting Al, Matt, and Homer yesterday at Bloomsburg yesterday....I was the champion of mini-golf and go karts (yes, go karts) and we watched a great after-school special about a girl named katie who lost her virginity to a 40-year-old homo....it was awesome.

Are you ready for some football?

Its finally here, Week 1 of the new NFL season. Here are some thoughts on my team, the NY Giants:

I dont see why this team cant make it back to the Super Bowl and win it this time. Theyve basically returned the same lineup except for a few positive changes, like signing veteran kicker Morten Andersen and adding Kenny Holmes to an already strong defensive line. Ron Dayne is in better shape this year, and Kerry Collins seems to have put his poor superbowl performance behind him. They also improved their secondary by drafting corners Will Allen and William Peterson. My boy from PSU, linebacker Brandon Short, is getting a starting spot this year, and big things are expected from ex-Nittany Lion Joe Jurevicius at wide reciever. The defense is one of the best in the league, thanks to Jesse Armstead and Michael Strahan. Sure their schedule is tougher this year and they wont be playing as underdogs like last season. But whos gonna stop them from winning the NFC East? The Eagles? Give me a break....we beat em 3 times last year. If Tiki Barber, Collins, Ike Hilliard, and the offensive line can stay healthy, we are going back to the big game. This was a team of destiny last year, but their dreams got cut short by a bunch of hoodlums from Baltimore who dont even deserve to be world champions. Trust me, stick with the Giants this year, theyre goin all the way.

I'm going to visit Bloomsburg tomorrow to visit Al and Matt......should be a good time.

Congrats to my bro Jord for getting his license today.

I watched some of the MTV video music awards tonight, I caught most of it on the first of 1,000 reruns...what a load of crap. About the only cool thing I saw was the fake gunshot wounds painted on the guys from Mudvayne...other than that it was pretty much lame (as expected). For those of you that watched the whole thing, can anybody tell me if Ozzy presented an award like he was supposed to? I didnt see him and I didnt hear his name announced at the opening credits....whats the deal?

Speaking of MTV, we are getting MTV 2 added to our cable in the next few days.....Now this is exciting, because its much closer to what "music television" is all about. I expect to be watching alot more tv once we get it.

And finally, my latest article is on the web, for all who are interested.

Thursday, September 06, 2001
Check out Jen's Pics from her visit to Penn State last weekend.....they came out awesome!

Fart-proof underwear Yes you heard right...the testimonials are the best part.

Oh and by the way, whats the deal with all the guys with unicycles on campus? If I see one more I'm gonna have to push them over.

Another Ozzy "Black Christmas Tour" rumor, according to Zakk Wylde's official site: Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Cradle of Filth, and System of a Down!

Pacden99: ohh shit

Had a great weekend, many thanks to Jen for the visit :) We didn't really do anything special but it was still a great weekend....now I really don't wanna go back to class.

Congrats to the Yankees' Mike Mussina for a great performance against the Red Sox last night, even though he didn't get the perfect game....Carl Everett is an ass.

Sunday, September 02, 2001
Ok so Penn State sucked tonight....really an embarrassing showing. With all the emotions and everything on our side, I really expected a better performance. But we just didnt show up to play, on offense or defense, or even special teams. A few bright spots were seeing Taliaferro walk out on to the field to lead the team, and also the new renovations were awesome. Tons of people there, you could feel the electricity in the air...we actually set a new attendance mark for the place, 109,000 (which is weird because the capacity is 106,500, but whatever)...we may also have a bit of a quarterback controversy because backup Zack Mills played alot of the game instead of starter Matt Senneca, who I dont think completed any passes at all. And defensively we really made Miami QB Ken Dorsey look like Heisman material because we couldnt defend against the pass for anything. But you have to hand it to the Hurricanes they really had a great game plan...give the ball to the tailback and he'll run left and watch the PSU defenders fall on their asses. Or just pass to the big stupid looking tight end and make him look like an NFL pro. I just hope this isnt an indication of the rest of the season or else I might as well sell the rest of my season tickets now and get what I can. WE ARE.....PENN STATE!
