Ok so Scott Brosius has retired from the Yanks, Paul O'Neill is already finished and it looks like Tino Martinez is on his way out...I mean they were all getting up there in age anyway but they were big factors in the Yanks' domination the past few years. Oh and dont forget Luis Sojo retired too, hes usually good for about 2 or 3 game winning hits per season. But fear not Yankees fans, we've got some replacements lined up......the highly touted rookie Drew Henson (ex-Michigan QB) at third, and it looks like Oakland slugger Jason Giambi is nearly in pinstripes. Pretty exciting stuff, hopefully next year they will finish what they couldn't this season.
Anyway, today I saw a license plate that said "On the Eighth Day God Created Bagpipes"....I just thought that was hilarious. Jen is on her way up to Penn State as we speak, we're attending the big annual Daily Collegian Formal on Saturday, its a fancy gathering of my fellow Collegian staff members and stuff at the Days Inn, we have to get all dressed up and crap. It better be good, because the tickets were 24 bucks.....each. But seriously, I'm sure it'll be a good time....mostly everyone there will probably be wasted anyway, so that should be fun at least. Christmas break begins exactly two weeks from today.....boy I can't wait. Monday, November 26, 2001
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving break, mine was swell....cant wait till Xmas break now, its less than 3 weeks away! And now, what you've all been waiting for, some pics from the weekend.....
Went to the annual Steinert-Hamilton West classic on Thanksgiving......my old school Steinert won this one 28-14.....too bad we couldn't win in my four years on the team, but oh well. My brother played, I heard he had a monster hit on a kickoff, although its not pictured here.....but here are some action shots. Those West fans sure are a classy bunch..........Their mascot looked pretty sad after they lost too. It was nice to see the old gang at the game. The Greene children, home from their fancy colleges, looking all high and mighty....god they disgust me. JK!!! Sean-Dogg surveys the action on the field..... Me and Kelly enjoying the game. Victory!!!! Jord looks so happy to be spending time with Jen It's true...turkey really does make you sleepy. Wednesday, November 21, 2001
Happy birthday wishes to my good friend Mark Stigs.....have a good one buddy!!
Well the radio show went really well last night...except for having to play punk for the first hour. But after that things got crazy with the metal and whatnot, I dont even think I screwed up once. Hope you all enjoyed it, those who listened.....damn I can't wait to get my own show!!! Well I'm headin home now for the Thanksgiving festivities....hope everybody has a good holiday. Tuesday, November 20, 2001
Ok, so I'm doing the radio show tonight BY MYSELF for the first time!! I'll be on from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. tonight, playin my music....I'm nervous as heck right now, but still it should be awesome. So please, check it out.....90.7 fm for you Penn Staters, and for those of you elsewhere, we can finally be heard on the web here, it comes in pretty good so please listen, you can hear me make a fool of myself and everything.
In other news, the Giants blew last night. They lost to the Vikings 28-16 on monday night football....damn it was depressing. They basically gave the game away with their stupid penalties, Kerry Collins' (or Koolins') fumbles, and an inability to cover Randy Moss. Speaking of which, check out this article about Moss, it basically confirms what an ass he is. Thanksgiving break begins tomorrow!!! Heading home about 10 am......damn I cant wait!! Had some laughs at Applebees......the Lewisburg flea market? We met Serj, the lead singer of System of a Down!! I don't think you trust....in.....my.....self-righteous suicide Homer. A tender moment between friends.. Sunday, November 18, 2001
Check out these mullets, as seen at the PSU-Indiana game on Saturday..
I think these guys are original members of Foreigner. Thursday, November 15, 2001

I slept in until like 12:30 today.....I am so damn proud of myself!! So they want to build a Dracula Theme Park in Romania.....how awesome would that be?? Check out the latest design for ed.tacomat.com......its like the 1000th different design for ed's site in like the past year, but its pretty dope. Speaking of Ed, you've gotta hear this song he sent me, "Launch & Assemble" by Force 5...its all about old-school toys and stuff, it's great. Anybody that can use a Serpentor reference in their lyrics is a-ok in my book. Tuesday, November 13, 2001
Here are some songs to check out, this time there's a theme, they're pretty mellow....give em a listen.
Down - "Jail" Alice in Chains - "Rain When I Die" Chris Cornell - "Sunshower" Neil Young - "Razor Love" Nine Inch Nails - "Hurt" Ozzy Osbourne - "Dreamer" Black Sabbath - "She's Gone" Cold - "Bleed (f. Aaron Lewis of Staind)" A Perfect Circle - "Wake the Dead (instrumental)" Zakk Wylde - "I Thank You Child" Pearl Jam - "Nothingman"
Jen was up for the weekend, we had a great time.....here are some pics...
We hung out with Allison, it was pretty dope. She's a Penn Stater for like two weeks and this is what she thinks of the school, shes already wearing it on her ass. Jen was the winner of the game!! Notice she's wearing my infamous shirt, too.... We were tired, it was a long night... ...and then the UFO's showed up. The End. Friday, November 09, 2001
Jen and Allison went to see Britney Spears last night in concert at the Bryce Jordan Center here at PSU.....check out some of her pics....
Nope Britney's not in this pic, but I know you were fooled for a minute. there she is. Pretty nice......seats You go girl. "I'm a..slaaaaaaave....for Jen!" In all her lip-synching glory looks like they had a swell time...and the pits were probably crazier than the Slipknot concert too. Well gotta go....Jen's still up here for the weekend, we're gonna show this town how to party! Or maybe just eat some ice cream... Tuesday, November 06, 2001
This is what REALLY happens when we go to heavy metal concerts.......we become the minions of our dark lord Satan. Photo courtesy Matthew Cook Monday, November 05, 2001
Yeah yeah so the Yankees lost. I guess it would be unfair to win the series EVERY year....and you cant deny this has been a great run, one of the greatest in baseball history. And ill give the D-backs some credit, it was a great series...even though somehow a team that wears purple uniforms and has a swimming pool at their stadium (which is named after a bank) and has only been in existence for four years winning the World Series somehow seems sacreligious to me, call me crazy. But I guess all the haters can laugh it up now (as if they were Diamondbacks fans from the start or something). It's just jealousy anyway, I understand...when you're the greatest sports franchise of all time its only natural for certain people to feel insufficient because of the shitty teams they root for that either A) have never won anything, B) last won a championship when they were a toddler, or when their grandfather was a toddler, or C) choke regularly in the postseason. And I'm not gonna go hiding in shame like some other fans do when their team loses. Oh no, I'm proud of my team win or lose, I didn't just jump on the bandwagon in '96 or something, I'm a third generation Yankee fan and damn proud of it. So go ahead and relish in the fact that the dominating and all-powerful Yankees lost........we'll see you next year, with Jason Giambi along for the ride. Enjoy it while you can. Another PSU win today, 38-20 over Southern Miss, their third in a row. And now, the highlights....
We got to pass the Lion, which was cool Matt was excited as hell. Paul got thrown out for throwing a drink after a PSU touchdown....but luckily they let him stay. Fight the power!! They put up the new shrine to Joe Paterno, its awesome. This lady remarked that the statue's crotch was "so lifelike." The best part of PSU football....tailgating Daddy would you like some sausage? We met Bobbi Jo Sullivan, aka BLUE SAPPHIRE....YES! I think we have a love connection... |
