Saw Lord of the Rings last night....man it was awesome. We went to the midnight premiere of it, it was verrrryyyyy loooong but excellent. I could have used an intermission but other than that it was great. Oh and there were quite a few weirdos there...take for instance the people sitting next to me...the girl in the cape and the dude with glitter all over him and big ass Hobbit-style sideburns, who laughed a little too loud at every funny part and cried when one of the characters died. Hahah.

Well I'm home and enjoying my break so far...havent done anything extraordinary yet really, just back to work at Anthony's Bicycle Trail to make some ends, im headed to work in a half hour in fact. Tomorrow Jen and I are headed to NYC for a little trip, that should be a good time and im sure i'll have some pics...

Coming home last week I was pulled over for the first time ever. I wasnt even speeding at the time so it was weird, I didnt even know what was going on, I thought it was racial profiling in action or something. Anyway, the good officer informed me that I was driving in the left lane and it is ILLEGAL to do so. He took my license and whatnot, while I was waiting I figured he was just going to give me a warning or something....but NO he gave me a freaking fine, no points though (how kind of him)....I figured the fine would be like 20 bucks or something, but wrong again, it was a 94 DOLLAR FINE, yes thats right, $94....I could go back to Luzerne County, PA and request a trial but I figured nah I'll just pay the damn thing and someone will have to go without christmas presents this year...

Went to the dentist this morning, that was fun and exciting as usual......Dr. Trachtenberg asked me if I had been flossing regularly, I was like "yeeeeeah suuuure, on and off..." and he was like "a few days a week?" and I was like "ahhhhh yeaah." Little did he know, I only flossed once since the last time I saw him, and that was this morning before my appointment.

Damn, how do I sign up for this class ??

Oh yeah and me and Jen saw Vanilla Sky the other night...definitely not what I expected, its totally different then the previews lead you to believe....its definitely weird too, I still dont know what to think about it.

4 Exams down, 1 to go!!! I've got Law of Mass Communications at 12:20 today, should be my easiest final actually, and then I'm out of here!!

Selling books back really blows sometimes. I've got this huge-ass Art History book (which I only opened once this year, mind you, and that was yesterday) and I know I paid like well over 80 bucks for it....now I find out they arent buying it back at the bookstores, because there's a "new edition" coming out for next year. Give me a break, the book I had was like brand new. God, they really know how to scam kids out of huge amounts of money.

Speaking of which, I started buying books for next semester...I've spent like over $190 already and I'm not done....thats because I need an ungodly amount of books, 17 to be exact. I didn't realize that taking a philosophy minor would involve so much reading, I thought it was all about just thinking for yourself and whatnot. Oh and I also had to buy a fantastic little book called "Between the Sheets, In the Streets - Queer, Lesbian, Gay Documentary" by Chris Holmlund and Cynthia Fuchs.... I don't even know what class that is for......what have I gotten myself into???

And what has Nate Newton gotten himself into? I heard last night that the ex-Cowboys star was caught with 175 pounds of weed in his car...this just weeks after he got caught with like 230 pounds of it. The funny part is, hes so stupid he probably thought it was oregano, get it, cuz he's fat and he eats alot.....hah.

Well I hope everyone has a good trip home and a happy holiday.....and to my H-Town crew, see you soon!

Ok I know everybody is busy with their studies and whatnot all the sudden, but lets not go crazy ok? Try some games to take your mind off things, two of my faves lately are Snood and Pong. I mean seriously, whats more important in the long run, some stupid insignificant letters on a paper, or your mental health and well-being? Come on people, get your priorities straight..

From the prp.com: Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera recently commented to Metal Hammer on the bands forthcoming new album, which is currently being recorded with Max himself producing. Max went onto to discuss the direction of the new album and the recording process saying: "I already know what it sounds like in my head, and that's songs like "Eye For An Eye" and "Roots" - it will please our more extreme fans." The album is expected out in April through Roadrunner/Island/Def Jam.
Damn.....I can't wait.

In other news, LINKIN PARK is comin to penn state in February. SWEEEEEEEEEET! I cant wait for that one. (sarcasm) Cypress Hill is opening up for them, which is pretty cool, I might have gone to see just them. Oh well.

Finals countdown: Three down, two to go.

NEBRASKA vs. Miami in the Rose Bowl?? What a load of crap. BCS? More like BS. Lets see, Colorado had two losses and Nebraska one....but Colorado absolutely destroyed them, and also won the Big 12, Nebraska didn't even play in their own conference championship. Colorado is ranked higher than Nebraska in BOTH polls.....Colorado had 5 wins over ranked opponents compared to Nebraska's 2. They really have to do something about this, what a joke. And the worst part is, for Colorado to get a share of the national championship, they have to beat Oregon plus ROOT FOR NEBRASKA to beat Miami. What crap.......the Huskers blow.

Got my Russian exam tomorrow night.....sure its open notes, but its still gonna be a pain in the ass, we have to write two essays, we dont even know what they are on. One is gonna be about the most recent stuff we learned, the other will encompass the whole course. God what a mistake that class was. Arrghh.

The Yanks traded David Justice to the Mets for Robin Ventura today.
When told of the trade, Justice said:
"I'm happy to go to the Mets. There are far worse teams to be traded to."
hahaha.

Anyway, lets see....the Yankees have added Ventura, Jason Giambi, reliever Steve Karsay, and quite possibly Moises Alou, while losing Tino Martinez, Scott Brosius, Dave Justice, and Paul O'Neill....it sure is gonna be a different team next year but somehow I just have a feeling we'll see them in the World Series once again.

In other news, I saw a young Don Cheadle at dinner tonight...he even had the same carpet-style hair and everything, I almost asked for an autograph.

Looks like its a done deal: Jason Giambi to the Yankees. Nice.

2 down, 3 to go.....you gotta love final exams.

Mik0138: weeeee all got em, some's long, some's short, some is scantron some is fiiill in da blank, they diff'rent kaalars they blaaack, they whhiiiite, de yella--sammy holmes, on standardized tests

Hey guess what, I've got my own RADIO SHOW! That's right, starting next semester, the Madman can be heard on The LION 90.7 FM State College, every Thursday evening from 1-3 in the a.m. Yeah I know the time slot blows, but I didn't have much choice, I'm the rookie over there. It's all good though, I only have one class on Fridays and its at like 10 a.m.....I've finally got control of the airwaves!! So I expect you all to be listening starting Jan. 10th, either by radio or on the web.

Quote of the day:

"I think he's sexy." - my elderly Comm teacher, on Russian president Vladimir Putin

Check out what I found in my fortune cookie today:

Weird eh?

Anyway...while you're pondering what exactly that means, check out the new section Jen added to her website, its all about her.

I heard an interesting rumor the other day....I may be getting my own radio show finally next semester, but the drawback is that itd be 1-3 am on thursdays. Could be tough, but it could be the big break i've been waiting for.......but its just a rumor for now, so we'll see. Theres a meeting this week so I could very well find out for sure. Wish me luck.

Speaking of music, here are some more of my world-famous song recommendations:

Judas Priest - "Beyond the Realms of Death"
Judas Priest - "Before Dawn"
Halford - "Silent Screams"
Kurtis Blow - "Basketball"
Paul McCartney - "Wonderful Christmas Time"
Iced Earth - "Electric Funeral" (Black Sabbath cover)
Shadows Fall - "Crushing Belial"
The Haunted - "Hollow Ground"
Creed - "Bullets"
Kreator - "Violent Revolution"

The Kurtis Blow and Paul McCartney songs are both courtesy of ed, both are hilarious and awesome. And I know what youre thinking, "hahahah Jay put Creed on his list, what a tool"....but that song is not half bad, if not for Scott Stapp's annoying voice it'd be even better, give it a chance. And the Kreator stuff is excellent, check out their latest cd, also titled Violent Revolution, it rules.

So what did everybody think of tonight's Simpsons episode?....I thought it was the best I have seen in a while, some of the Mr. Burns dialogue was pure gold, like for instance when he said he was into hip things like "piloting motor coaches and collecting dog waste"....hahahah damn that was funny.

Check out my latest articles here and here.

This weekend was most excellent. Jen was up here, we went to the big Collegian formal on Saturday night, it was a prom-style event, some might even call it a "ball"....we got dressed up and stuff, it was kinda weird but I think we both had a decent time, at least I hope Jen did. Overall it was a fun weekend, I cant wait till Jen is up here next semester. Here are a few pics of the weekend:

The gals...........................................................Did you know Jen is a Pantera fan?

Me and Jen, looking good as usual :)

Me and my colleague, The Rick...who is perfectly sober.

For more pics from my weekend, check out Jen's site.

In other news, the Penn State football season came to an abrupt end against Virginia, thanks to a crappy performance by quarterback Matt Senneca. I dont have much to say about that, other than Zack Mills better be starting every game next season. Oh well, no bowl for us, but dont count Penn State out...next year will be better, guaranteed.
The men's soccer team's season also came to an end this weekend (finally), so I'm pretty much done writing about them and can concentrate on women's basketball. YES! At least theyre pretty decent....

Well this is the final week of classes this semester, I have two finals on Thursday, and then three next week during the official "Finals Week".....and then I'm heading home for the break!! Cant wait....well thats all for now, later.
