OK it's time for some major bragging:

THE GIANTS BEAT THE EAGLES !!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEY BEAT THE EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great game today, easily one of the best Giants games of my lifetime, a 10-7 overtime thriller against Philly .... things didn't look so good early on when the Eagles marched down the field and scored on the first possession, but after that Big Blue dominated the game, they were moving the ball at will, the only thing they couldn't dominate was the scoreboard. Kerry Collins' pass to my boy Jeremy Shockey was picked off in the endzone .... later Charles Stackhouse scored on a TD run (didn't fumble this time) but it was called back on a penalty for a non-existant hold, then on the subsequent play Tiki Barber fumbled (his first of three on the day) .... later a great TD bomb to pro-bowl snub Amani Toomer was called back on another horrible holding penalty .... Giants should have won this game 21-7 in regulation folks, but they just kept giving it away .... former pawn broker Matt Bryant also missed an easy 36-yarder to give NY the lead ... But my boy Shockey came through with a huge TD catch to tie the game at 7 in the fourth quarter, he also had some awesome catches .... Eagles got the ball in OT but Mr. Automatic David Akers missed a potential game-winning field goal, then Tiki coughed it up again on the Giants possession .... but luckily Shaun Williams came up with a big interception off AJ Feely, which lead to a big drive and a 39-yard game winner from Bryant, sending the Giants to the playoffs and dashing the Eagles' hopes for home field advantage ....

This was an unbelievable game to cap off quite a weird season .... earlier this year, after a good showing against the 49ers and wins over the Rams and Seahawks, Mike and I looked at the schedule and decided that they "could easily go 11-5 this year and have a decent shot at winning the NFC East", little did we know how much they'd suck in losses to the expansion Houston Texans and Tennessee, and even in pathetic wins over the Redskins .... when Donovon McNabb went down we figured they'd have a decent shot at the division title, only to go out and perform so horribly that I hated them, then all of a sudden they've won two in a row, then they blow out the high-powered Indianapolis Colts, and now this, and they're the fifth seed in the playoffs. Crazy year.

But let's give it up for Jim Fassel, he somehow always manages to save his ass come December .... and Kerry Collins, for all the negativity he gets I can't help but like the guy, he followed up a career game against Indy with a solid performance despite first-quarter problems, he also finished with over 4,000 yards passing and broke the Giants single-season passing record, set by Phil Simms in 1984 .... and how about Toomer, this guy has been great all year, especially since Ike Hilliard was lost for the year .... and Barber, another Pro Bowl snub, he had over 200 yards rushing against the vaunted Eagles D, I'll forgive the 3 fumbles today only because they won ... but he's had a great season, also set a Giants single-season record, passing Joe Morris with over 1,700 yards on the ground ... and he also kept my fantasy football team alive for many weeks ..... and finally my boy Shockey, god I'd hate him if he played for any other team ... so many highlights this year since he crushed that dude in a preaseason game, then bowling over a Colts defender last week, and finally laughing in Brian Dawkins' face after his TD today, that one will be etched on my mind forever .... I finally went out and bought his jersey, as I've been meaning to do for some weeks .... he's gonna be the best tight end in the league for years to come.

And finally, to all the Eagles fans: suck it. Dont try and say this was a meaningless game, because it wasn't .... don't try to say you had your third-string QB, because Mr. McFeely has been like the second coming of Christ for Philly fans these past few weeks. We just outplayed you, the Giants wanted it more. Over 450 yards of offense against "the best team in the league," just think how bad a beating it would have been if the Giants didnt have two TDs called back because of horrible officiating and if Tiki didnt fumble three times. Just suck it.

Finally some more bragging: tomorrow night, Al-Dawg, Jenibabe, The Rick and I are leaving for sunny Orlando, Florida to check out the big Capital One Bowl clash between Penn State and Auburn on Wednesday, don't forget to check it out at 1 p.m. on ABC ..... we're also hitting up Universal Studios and possibly Daytona Beach, it's going to be a great trip, talk to you in about a week.

Season's Greetings from Jay's World, hope everyone had a happy holiday .....

Got some pretty cool presents and spent some time with the family, now I'm just relaxing for the next few days until our trip to Orlando .... I'm also counting down until the big Giants - Eagles matchup on Saturday, its gonna be crazy, go Big Blue ....

Speaking of football, anybody see that female kicker in the New Mexico - UCLA game yesterday? When she came out to kick the extra point for NM I almost crapped myself ... too bad it got blocked.

Friday, December 20, 2002
Today's a very special day in Jay's World, I just wanna send out a very happy 4-year anniversary wish to Jen, love you honey :)

Now back to the usual crap ... congrats to my boy Jeremy Shockey of the Giants, and also teammate Michael "The Gap" Strahan, who were named to the NFC's roster for the Pro Bowl. One thing though ... where the heck is Tiki ?????

Congrats to the Yankees for picking up Hideki Matsui, the slugger from Japan ... god he better not be a bust like the last Hideki we had ..... we also picked up Todd Zeile, who's now just one team away from playing on every ballclub in Major League Baseball ... lost Mike Stanton, to the Mets no less, that one hurts (who the hell is Chris Hammond?), here's hoping we pick up Bartolo Colon, and another successful offseason would be in the books ...

Enough about this Trent Lott garbage, ya heard? Enough!

Oh by the way .... I'M OUTTA HERE, hope everyone has a good break .....

Well its time again for my Top 10 Albums list for the year 2002. This time there was so much good material to choose from that I decided to switch it up and make an exclusive metal list, and then a non-metal list so check it out, and be sure to let me know what you thinklet the countdown begin . P.S. I'm doing my radio show tonight and I'll be playing cuts from my top 10 metal albums so don't miss that ...

METAL TOP 10 OF 2002

1. Down - Down II (A Bustle in Your Hedgerow)

When I first heard this album back in March, I knew it would make my top ten list.....a few more listens and I was sold: this is the album of the year. Down is a southern hard rock/heavy metal super group of sorts, composed of bassist Rex Brown (Pantera), drummer Jimmy Bower (Corrosion of Conformity/Eye Hate God), guitarists Pepper Keenan (COC) and Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), and Pantera vocalist extraordinaire Phil Anselmo. They fuse the intensity of modern metal bands like Pantera with the classic heaviness of the bands that inspired them: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC and more.....its apparent that these guys have a real passion for the music, and their album blows away pretty much any hard rock release of the past few years, including the most recent Pantera album and all the nu-metal garbage out there. Check it out, because its going to be a classic.

Jays Picks: Theres Something on My Side, The Man That Follows Hell, Beautifully Depressed, The Seed, Landing on the Mountains of Meggido

2. Soilwork - Natural Born Chaos

One of the leaders of the whole Swedish metal sound (with In Flames and Dark Tranquility), these guys have gotten a lot of grief about this album from the metal community because it strays from the usual death metal growl vocals and repetitive music....its got a bunch of memorable choruses and melodic, clean vocals in certain places, which is fine with me, because its damn good. Ive played this one over and over and Im still loving it.

Jays Picks: Follow the Hollow, The Flameout, Mindfields, The Bringer

3. Dark Tranquility - Damage Done

Another outstanding melodic death album from a Swedish band, maybe Im crazy but this stuff is damn good I put this higher than In Flames because it is a little more aggressive and a little catchier. Very good stuff on here, the songs really stick with you, the vocals are growled but not overdone and theres even some nice keyboards to go with all the heaviness.

Jays Picks: Final Resistance, Monochromatic Stains, Cathode Ray Sunshine, The Treason Wall, Format C for Cortex

4. Shadows Fall - The Art of Balance

Excellent sophomore release from the band considered by many to be the future of American metal these guys are definitely a product of the various styles of metal out there, including the melodic In Flames-type Swedish death metal, as well as more traditional 80s-era Metallica thrash, with a nice mix of hardcore stuff think Hatebreed playing Master of Puppets, complete with guitar solos and they even throw in a cover of Pink Floyds Welcome to the Machine. Definitely some songs you can sing along with (especially Stepping Outside the Circle) thanks to Brian Fairs melodic choruses to go with his death growls.

Jays Picks: Idle Hands, Thoughts Without Words, Destroyer of Senses, Stepping Outside the Circle

5. Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing?

I was blown away when I first heard one of their songs early last year on some promo cd, I was so impressed I think I played it on my radio show for like 8 consecutive weeks. This one is their first major-label release and it doesnt disappoint very similar to Shadows Fall in that they are a combination of hardcore-style music and old-skool metal. Excellent riffs, clean/growling vocals (they even have a positive message), good drumming, this album is the complete package. The singer left the band recently, but I hear from reliable sources the new guys good too, at least live. Look for big things from these guys in the future.

Jays Picks: Numbered Days, My Last Serenade, Life to Lifeless Just Barely Breathing, The Element of One

6. Opeth - Deliverance

Opeth set out to record two new albums, the first one (Deliverance) heavy and the second one (Damnation) mellow lets just say they accomplished their first goal, this is an extremely heavy, emotional and epic metal album only six songs, five of them are over 10 minutes long while one is an outstanding, even beautiful, acoustic track (For Absent Friends) that everyone, not just metal fans, should give a listen to. Overall, a great album, and be on the lookout for that mellow disc sometime soon.

Jays Picks: All are great but especially check out Masters Apprentice and the aforementioned For Absent Friends

7. Soulfly - III

The third album from former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera and cohorts, III is arguably the bands best. Like their previous two outings, this one features tribal jams (Soulfly III) and world-beat percussions combined with the thrash metal sound that Maxs former band helped pioneer. Its the first Soulfly album actually produced by Max and it relies less on guest appearances than in the past and more on tightness and heaviness - the albums first three tracks hit heavy and fast, letting you know that there wont be any Fred Durst cameos on this one. The albums highlight, for me anyway, is Tree of Pain, the surprisingly moving tribute to Maxs murdered stepson. Great stuff.

Jays Picks: Downstroy, Enterfaith, L.O.T.M., Brasil, Tree of Pain, Four Elements

8. In Flames - Reroute to Remain

Another great album from another band that took a lot of flak for straying from their older sound (i.e. Clayman, Jester Race, etc.) but if you wanna call these guys sell-outs for adding a little more melody to their music then whatever its still very heavy and very, very good although not as good as some of their other stuff, which is why its not as high on my list. Still, while a few songs on here are quite different from their earlier recordings (synthesizers on Cloud Connected, one or two tracks that sound like folk songs) there is a lot of good material on here.

Jays Picks: Reroute to Remain, System, Drifter, Cloud Connected, Egonomic, Free Fall, Dark Signs

9. Zakk Wyldes Black Label Society - 1919 Eternal

Perhaps Im biased because Zakk Wylde is Ozzy Osbournes guitarist. But Ive loved this album since it came out back in February and its managed to stay on my list all year. Some really solid songs on here to go with some traditionally heavy Zakk riffs the album may or may not have been written for Ozzys 2001 Down to Earth album, but Zakk handles the vocals just fine he also tosses in a very nice ballad (Bridge to Cross) and a great acoustic version of America the Beautiful, both worthy of one of his solo albums. Once again Zakk proves he is the man. If you dont believe me, check out how fast he plays on the one-minute acoustic Speedball amazing.

Jays Picks: Bleed For Me, Demise of Sanity, Battering Ram, Life, Birth, Blood, Doom, Bridge to Cross, America the Beautiful

10. Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage

This is the first full-length album from these guys, its a sort of death metal super group which features Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) on vocals very intense stuff, Im normally not a huge fan of newer death metal, a few songs at a time but rarely can I listen to a whole album because its usually so damn repetitive and boring but these guys bring a very old-skool thrash vibe to it, some very nice riffs on here and tight songwriting, and you can almost understand all the vocalsalmost. Very nice.

Jays Picks: Ways to the Grave, Like Fire, So You Die, Buried By the Dead

HONORABLE MENTION: (in no particular order)

Arch Enemy - Wages of Sin
Very aggressive stuff with a female vocalist!
Jays Picks: Heart of Darkness, Ravenous, Dead Bury Their Dead, Behind the Smile

Blind Guardian - A Night at the Opera
Epic, progressive (sometimes a little nerdy) power metal. Outstanding production.
Jays Picks: Precious Jerusalem, Battlefield Sadly Sings Destiny, Wait for an Answer

Stone Sour - Stone Sour
Almost more heavy rock/grunge than metal, with vocals by the unmasked Corey Taylor of Slipknot you probably heard Bother (Spiderman soundtrack) on your local Top 40 rock station trendy but still good.
Jays Picks: Get Inside, Monolith, Blotter, Orchids, Bother

The Crown - Crowned in Terror
FAST!!! Features Thomas Lindberg, the former singer of At the Gates.
Jays Picks: Under the Whip, Drugged Unholy, Death Metal Holocaust The Speed of Darkness

Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness
Finally, some very good black metal.
Jays Picks: Sons of Northern Darkness, Tyrants, Demonium

NON-METAL TOP 5 OF 2002 (it's the best I can do..)

1. Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way

This album was one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. After the 1999 multi-platinum chart-topper Californication, everybody knew that the Peppers were back and arguably better than ever. But who wouldve guessed that the follow up would be almost a complete departure from their signature sound? Even after the heavy first single and title track, By the Way (also the album opener) came out on the radio, I figured By the Way would be similar to their other material ... boy was I wrong. The Peppers have gone mellow no Suck My Kiss on this album, its a lot more Under the Bridge which isnt necessarily a bad thing. I guess they really wanted to separate themselves from the rap-metal that they had a big part in creating. Theres still some funky white boy heaviness (Cant Stop, Throw Away Your Television), but also ska (On Mercury) and even a Spanish jam (Cabron) ... the return of guitarist John Frusciante really breathed new life into this band, and Anthony Kiedis voice sounds better than ever. Theres plenty of great stuff, particularly the haunting Venice Queen and the melodic ballad Dosed ... a highlight in an ever-evolving career, and the best rock release of the year. Damn I should submit this to Rolling Stone.

Jays Picks: Dosed, Dont Forget Me, The Zephyr Song, Cant Stop, Midnight, Throw Away Your Television, Venice Queen

2. Jurassic 5 - Power in Numbers
Real rap. Excellent. Simple as that.
Jays Picks: If You Only Knew, A Day at the Races, Remember His Name, Thin Line (f. Nelly Furtado), High Fidelity, Hey

3. Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
Outstanding rhyming from one of my favorite lyricists, Gift of Gab, and some really nice samples.
Jays Picks: Blazing Arrow, Sky is Falling, First in Flight, 4000 Miles, Paragraph President, Make You Feel That Way, Chemical Calisthentics

4. Filter - The Amalgamut
Richard Patrick really annoys me sometimes but he made a great album aggressive grunge, heavy guitars with pop choruses, and a couple nice ballads.
Jays Picks: You Walk Away From Me Where Do We Go From Here, The Missing, The Only Way (Is the Wrong Way), So I Quit, God Damn Me

5. Rush - Vapor Trails
Triumphant return of what is easily one of the top 10 Canadian progressive/classic rock bands of all time. Very good stuff.
Jays Picks: One Little Victory, How It Is, Earthshine, Sweet Miracle, Nocturne

Well we're in the midst of finals week here, it's been a blast for me so far, sleeping till 12 each day, no Collegian ... I had a 10-page philosophy paper but that was completed and handed in yesterday .... Theater exam tonight, Jen and I are gonna cram this afternoon ... News Editing tomorrow, then I'm done for the year.

A little music news, courtesy of blabbermouth.net ... OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Zakk Wylde has already written and recorded material for the next Ozzy studio album, which is expected to surface sometime next year, according to www.blacklabelsociety.net. Meanwhile, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY are hard at work on a new studio album, "The Blessed Hellride", due in the spring through Spitfire Records. The follow-up to this year's "1919 Eternal" will reportedly contain 10 tracks.

Very cool news, considering Zakk didn't write anything on Ozzy's 2001 album Down to Earth .... also cool because the last BLS album was awesome. Now all we need is a new Black Sabbath record ...............

In the sports world, more proof why Florida State sucks ... from the Associated Press:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State quarterback Chris Rix was suspended for the Nokia Sugar Bowl on Tuesday because he overslept and missed a final exam.

The move leaves the Seminoles without their top two quarterbacks for the Jan. 1 game against Southeastern Conference champion Georgia. Backup Adrian McPherson was kicked off the team last month after being accused of stealing a check.

Rix slept through a religion exam, an automatic suspension under a rule established after former Seminoles star Deion Sanders played in the 1989 Sugar Bowl despite not taking any final exams.

Hahahaha that's gold, pure gold ....

Congrats to Mr. Carson Palmer, winner of the 2002 Heisman Trophy .......................................... NOT

Larry got shafted .... just because this guy has a good game against Notre Dame (who the media loves) on a Saturday night (of course all the loser sportswriters were watchin, they got nothin better to do) ..... but whatever, LJ will be just fine in the NFL, I'm just glad that neither "Willis McGay-hee" or "Ken Whoresy" (as Mike likes to call them) won, in fact they finished DEAD LAST ....

Finals week is set to begin ..... got an extension on my 10-pager, it's due Wednesday, so I better get crackin ..... yeah. Can't wait till Friday. Big shout-out to my honey Jen, cramming hard for those finals.

Giants pulled out another one today, 37-7 over the Cowboys .... they're still in this playoff race, thanks to losses by Atlanta and New Orleans ..... Big Blue still needs help though, they gotta win out against the Colts and Eagles, plus the Falcons and Saints have to lose out, it doesnt help that they play four of the worst teams in the NFL (Detroit and Cleveland, Cincinnati and Carolina, respectively) .... we'll see.

Coming on Thursday ... my annual Top 10 Albums of the Year list (with a special twist) .... stay tuned.

Friday, December 13, 2002
Well, classes are finally over for the semester .... only one semester of college left, I'm sure it'll be a good one. The Collegian is also done for the semester, in fact I just got back from a delicious dinner at the Boalsburg Steakhouse with my fellow sports editors, just want to congratulate everyone on a great semester, I'm lookin forward to more fun in the Spring ... I'm pretty much doin the same job, except instead of "assistant night sports editor" I'm just the "night sports editor," I still make my 30 cents an hour or whatever it is, work the same crap hours, but now I'm the one who gets bitched out when mistakes get in the paper ... should be fun.

Congrats to Mr. Larry Johnson, winner of the Maxwell Award (top college player), Doak Walker Award (top running back), and the Walter Camp Player of the Year ... of course it doesn't mean crap, because the votes have been in for the Heisman for several days now ... not too confident that he'll win with the way the media is all up in Miami's crack, but I still think he's got a shot ... be sure to check out the awards show at 8 p.m. tomorrow on ESPN to see if LJ gets it, if nothing else you'll get to see my pals that cover football for the Collegian, they made the trip to N.Y. to cover it ..... if they announce Ken Dorsey's name and someone yells out "f****n' s***!!!!!" you'll know that it's Dustin "Smokin D" Dopirak, my future night desk co-worker ....

You hear what happened to Moby? It's a downright outrage, I hope they find those young ruffians ...

Capital One Bowl countdown: 19 days
I even received this email today:

Hi JASON F,

The ticket(s) you ordered on December 08, 2002 for CAPITAL ONE BOWL , have been printed! They will be shipped to you shortly via US Mail.

yeah boy!

Winter Break / 4-Year Anniversary countdown: 7 days

There's a rumor that OTC is workin on some new stuff .... can't confirm anything, but i'll keep you posted.

Buy me this.

Thursday, December 12, 2002
Classes were actually canceled today here at PSU, after 1 p.m., we had a winter weather event .... just a little icy stuff really, but enough to make the roads bad (for both cars and pedestrians) .... I should know, I slipped while walkin down an alley, my leg went out from under me and i got all wet and also bent my umbrella up on impact, god I felt like Mr. Bean, I just hope nobody saw me ....

So Larry Johnson is a finalist for the Heisman, good stuff, although I have a feeling someone from Miami is gonna win, even though LJ is more worthy ... I mean can you make a case for either Dorsey or McGahee bein the most outstanding player on their own team even, let alone most outstanding in all of college football? But whatever, congrats to Larry for even bein selected a finalist, check the show out on Saturday on ESPN ....

Last week of classes is wrapping up, all I have left to worry about is a 10-page paper on out of body experiences, anybody have one written they want to sell me? I also have two finals next week on theater and news editing, those shouldn't be too bad. And tomorrow is the final day of the Collegian for the semester, thank god.

A little update about that radio station vs. newspaper football game I was talkin about a while back, it got postponed because of inclement weather and a general lack of balls on the side of the radio .... its scheduled to take place the week after the Superbowl, so we can all get in shape for it. Like that'll happen.

Another update about our fantasy football team: we lost. We narrowly missed makin the playoffs so our season came to an end ... it was a good run though, if it wasn't for Kurt Warner screwing us over we'd be in the thick of it right now ... Looking back, we had the second pick in the draft, Marshall Faulk went No. 1 and we took Warner with the second pick, if we had taken Priest Holmes we'd be running away with it all. Oh well, a lesson was learned for next year ...

In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Guns N Roses have officially canceled the rest of their tour ... Axl Rose is said to be contemplating checking himself into a psychiatric clinic ... wow the comeback lasted longer than I thought.

Mike and I entered this contest to win two Black Sabbath DVD's, we had to answer some obscure trivia, like "what Star Trek actress appeared in a sabbath music video?" (no not Levar Burton, it was Denise Crosby) .... I'm pretty sure we had all the answers right due to our unhealthy obsession with the band, it'd be pretty sweet to win so we could hear the 30 second clips of ultra-rare early demo material ...... yeah boy.

Monday, December 09, 2002
Well today truly is a sad day in the world of personal web sites .... It appears that ed.tacomat.com, the official web site of my good friend Ed Slavin, is no more. Some thoughts ...

Mik0138: oh my god its the end of an era

Mik0138: it really does kinda make me sad cause there were a lot of good memories posted on that site
JayBart2: no doubt
Mik0138: i think i want to cry
Mik0138: but i don't know how
JayBart2: what have we become?
JayBart2: innocence faded
Mik0138: existence jaded

RUalan80 i'll always remember his panaramic shot of Shea Stadium.....it was a classic and a beautiful work of art
RUalan80: it should be put in every history book ever made

SoulBurn11: ed.tacomat.com has always been there for me, through it all....it helped me through my original case of herpes and through all the relapses...it was a shoulder to cry on, and its pictures inspired me to reach to my goal of becoming a circus freak, what can i say? im losing a not only a Bookmarked site, but also a crutch in life, i will never be the same......RIP ED.TACOMAT.COM, you will forever be in my thoughts

Sorry. Anyway ... if you missed out on ed.tacomat.com, that's a real shame. Over the years he's brought us some outstanding (and often puzzling) digital photographs, words of wisdom, underground rap song suggestions, dope links, and numerous (and i do mean numerous) different site designs. It truly is the end of an era, but all good things must come to an end ... and ed has personally assured me that there will be a new site eventually when he moves to a new server. So there is hope after all ..... rest in peace, ed.tacomat.com

In other news, I was lookin at my site archive, check out this post from 4/19/2002:

I am so psyched for next season too, there's like a record 8 home games, so all my friends have no excuse but to come up for a game.....we're playing Nebraska under the lights on September 14, that should be huge. I'm predicting big things for this team next year, we'll make a pretty big bowl game too.....its about damn time.

Looks like my predictions came true ... I had several friends come up for home games ... and we are in a pretty big bowl game too .... I'm just glad everything worked out alright. Now we just need to beat Auburn, PSU's opponent in the Capital One Bowl ... we got our tickets yesterday, they're in the upper level but I just wanna be in the stadium ... this trip is gonna rock.

Saturday, December 07, 2002
The other night I was at the Penn State women's basketball game (go Lady Lions) and we sat a few rows ahead of Heisman trophy candidate Larry Johnson ... then tonight I went bowling and we were a few lanes over from Bryant Johnson, Anthony Adams and Gus Felder ..... weird. I think they're stalkin me.

There is a chance there will be a big football game tomorrow, The Daily Collegian vs. The Lion 90.7 FM (of course I'm playin for the collegian side) buuuuuuuut it looks like the unreliable knuckleheads at the radio station didn't get the intramural office to hook us up with lights at the IM fields (we were gonna play after sunset) so basically it probably won't happen. Hopefully though, we'll get a chance to play them, they challenged us, they even called us "the Daily Comedians", that was the last straw for me, I'm ready to kick some ass ....

Only one week left of class, and then finals, I can't believe how fast this semester is goin .... just gotta get through a couple more exams, and a 10-page philosophy paper (should be fun) and then it's winter break .... crazy.

Wednesday, December 04, 2002
It's official...

CAPITAL ONE BOWL BABY!!!!!
January 1st in Orlando, Fla., at the Citrus Bowl, and you know we'll be there. Student tix SHOULD go on sale later this week. Our opponent: Georgia, Arkansas or Auburn. I'm pumped. It'll definitely be an improvement from this:

Tonight's Weather:

Clear and bitterly cold.
Low: 6

Turkey Day update....

Had a pretty good break ... probably went to my final Thanksgiving Day football matchup between my old high school Steinert and our rival Hamilton .... I think we lost 33 - 13 or something like that, it was a rough one after the first half, but I did get to see my brother make his first reception of the season in his final game.

Got to see a few old H-Town friends, shout outs to Mike, Al-Dawg, Elk and the Greenes, hopefully see you all again over X-mas break.....

Let's see, what else.........had a great thanksgiving meal, watched some football, the usual ... Jen and I rented Insomnia, starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams as a killer, pretty good flick ..

Still waiting for some news on PSU's bowl game, Capital One still looks like a good shot, but it still won't be definite for a while...still, I can't wait, wherever it is it should be awesome ...

How about those Giants? Are they pathetic or what? The funny thing is, they're still in the playoff picture (even though they don't deserve to be), although that's a longshot at this point .... oh well, hopefully they'll get Larry Johnson and Jimmy Kennedy in the draft this spring.....

I suggest you check out the following songs:

1. Ice Cube - "Until We Rich"
2. Black Sabbath - "She's Gone"
3. Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Dosed"
4. Outkast - "E.T. (Extraterrestrial)"
5. Iron Maiden - "Wasted Years"
6. Jurassic 5 - "Sum of Us"
7. Earth Crisis - "Children of the Grave" (Black Sabbath cover)
8. Ozzy Osbourne - "Believer" (Live at Budokan)
9. Testament - "Draw the Line" (Aerosmith cover)
10. Louis Armstrong - "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off"
