LINCOLN, Neb. Hello from Cornhusker land! That's right, I'm here in capital of the great state of Nebraska, a week into my training for my internship. It's definitely an interesting place .... it's pretty flat, although I havent really seen any corn fields yet, which is odd ... everything seems to close early, and it's pretty quiet, but I guess that's partly because school isn't really in session at Nebraska. The people here for training with me are cool though, there's 10 of us here that will be interning at different papers, and we're from schools all over the country, which is cool. We've sampled the Lincoln nightlife pretty much every night, except this one, because I have homework. We have to go to class pretty much every day from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., which blows .... they have guest professors and professionals come in and talk to us, it's interesting but it's kind of a journalism overload. We do have a good time making fun of most of them, though. They're feeding us pretty good, too, even though it's dorm food mostly. I'm just lookin forward to leaving on Friday and gettin back home for a night, and then moving up to Pittsburgh to start my job ..... oh and Jen is moving in with me for the summer! Definitely looking forward to that. Alright I'm out, later.

This will be my final transmission for a while .....

Tomorrow is the big day, graduation at 9 am .... after that, I'm movin out and headin home for the night, and the next day my flight leaves for the University of Nebraska, two weeks of training for my internship .... and after that I'm flying home and then driving up to Pittsburgh to move into my new place and start my summer internship at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review .... should be an interesting next few months.

Anyway, I just want to take this opportunity to give a big thank you to everyone who has made my four years at Penn State so memorable .... and a very special thank you to my girlfriend Jen for helping me through everything :)

Congratulations to all my friends in the Class of 2003 here at PSU and at fine institutions around the country .... good luck to all of you as we begin our lives in the "real world" ....

Special congratulations to Mr. Jeff Rice for obtaining a real actual job at the Centre Daily Times here in State College ....

And with that, I bid you farewell ..... talk to you after I'm in Pittsburgh! Peace.

I saw The Matrix Reloaded and you didn't ..... we went to a special opening last night at Hamilton's world-famous AMC 24 theater .... it was damn good, confusing as hell, but good ..... and the special effects were really somethin else. You should go see it (as if it needs some more promotion) ....

Now I'm headin back to State College to go out in a blaze of glory before graduation ......

I've been home in NJ for a few days, just enjoying some free time with the family and Jen .... the other day we went to dinner with my relatives and stuff to celebrate my graduation, I got a Joe Paterno bobblehead and a very cool framed picture of Beaver Stadium from when Joe won his record-setting 324th game (I was in attendance) ... I also got the ever-popular gift of cash, which was fine with me ....

I'm heading back up to PSU Thursday for my final time as a student ... graduation ceremony is Saturday morning at Rec Hall ... still can't believe it's all over.

Over the weekend we took my mom to a Trenton Thunder game for Mother's Day, it was Derek Jeter's fifth and final game with the Yankees' AA affiliate as part of a rehab assignment ... couldn't get his autograph, but that was ok, I already got it way back when he was in AA like eight or nine years ago .... anyway it was a decent game and Jeet had an RBI triple, so that was cool ....

The other day MTV celebrated the return of the new and improved Headbanger's Ball, dedicated to "heavy metal" videos ... of course this being the 00's they played what you'd expect: Staind, Godsmack, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Powerman 5000 ..... but they did throw in some good stuff for the real metal fans, some old school Metallica, and new videos from Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society (very cool vid) and Superjoint Ritual .... so all in all it was a decent attempt at getting back to heavy music, and I have my friend and MTV employee Mike to thank, so thanks buddy ............

And speakin of Black Label Society, congrats on their recent success .... their newest disc, "The Blessed Hellride", is selling pretty well and has cracked the Billboard top 50 ... the first single, "Stillborn" featuring Ozzy Osbourne on guest vocals, has been getting alot of airplay .... it's a damn good song and a very cool album so I suggest you check it out ....

Another album I've been digging lately is an old one, Annihilator's "Never, Neverland" ... it's old-school thrash, a very enjoyable disc and some excellent guitar work from Jeff Waters, check that one out too ....

And here's a few tunes I recommend:

1. Suicidal Tendencies - "You Can't Bring Me Down"
2. Two - "I Am a Pig"
3. Black Label Society - "Stillborn"
4. Lamb of God - "11th Hour"
5. Annihilator - "Imperiled Eyes"
6. Carnal Forge - "H.B.F. Suicide"
7. Black Sabbath - "Heaven and Hell"
8. Radiohead - "How to Disappear Completely"
9. Offspring - "Smash"
10. Anthrax - "Safe Home"

Jen and I got tickets to see a special advance screening of The Matrix Reloaded on Wednesday night, now that should be dope ... can't wait ... I'll let you know how it is ....

Been a while since my last post, there's a lot to get caught up on ...

The school year is pretty much winding down right now .... I had my final class ever last week, it was a pretty cool feeling to come walking out after that one as basically a free man .... I spent my last late night at the Collegian too, some mixed emotions there, i've had a lot of fun times at that office but also spent a hell of a lot of hours working, so in a way I'm glad it's over....

Last week I also had my final radio show, it was a marathon, we went until after 4:30 in the a.m. ... it was a celebration, pretty much all of my dedicated guests showed up: Carnivore, Cancer Man, The Rick, Smokin D the Servant of Satan, Jeffrice, Chesty LaRue, Josey Scott of the famed band Saliva, Quiet Man, Shure Shot, Cosmic Joker, Cooostanza and The Man With No Name .... we played some of my all-time favorite tunes, shed a few tears and had much fun ... I just want to thank everyone who's supported the Metal Machine over the past year and a half, it's been an incredible ride ...

Last week we also had the Collegian picnic, played a little football (not tackle, though), didn't get any of the free food but I got an honorary Collegian senior mug with my name on it, that was cool I suppose ... later went to a party hosted by Smokin D, that was cool as well, and it might have been my last party as a student, we'll see ....

Right now I'm up at school, I have my final final tomorrow in Landscape Architecture (cake) .... I spent the last few days at home, chilled with the family, got to see my pal Mike .... Jen and I went to see X-men 2, that was dope .... also rented Harry Potter 2, not as dope .... I'm goin home again Friday night, we're going to dinner to celebrate graduation, then Sunday we're all taking mom to see a Trenton Thunder game, hopefully Derek Jeter will be playing as part of a rehab assignment, that'd be real dope ....

This morning (6 a.m. to be exact) Jen and I venuted two hours away to lovely Johnsonburg, Pa., so Jen could fight a speeding ticket she got there on our trip to Canada .... she got it knocked down to 0 points on her license, which was real good, apparently she used her feminine charms to get her way .... anyway, if you ever get a chance to visit Johnsonburng (aka "The Paper City") in the spring, don't hesitate, it's simply breathtaking ...

Can't believe it's almost over .... it's the final week of classes ... EVER. Tomorrow I'll also be working at the Collegian for the final time ... EVER. It's kind of crazy to think about. No more Collegian ... it's been my life for like two years now, especially this past year .... and no more classes, that's just nuts, considering I've been going to school since I was 6 years old. And here's the whackest part: only ONE more radio show left. I've been doing the show nearly every Thursday night for over a year and a half now ... tomorrow night's show is gonna be a blast, all my favorite tunes and many special guests. Don't forget to tune in at 12.

I'm still working on this profile for my class, it's a huge story about a co-worker of mine at the radio station, The Cosmic Joker...
I've spent alot of time with him, I was at his show until after 3 a.m. last night .... then I came home and watched the U.S. Jump Rope National Championships on espn2 until like 4, but that's neither here nor there ... anyway, I think this story is going to come out real good, unfortunately it won't be running in the Collegian because of the whole conflict-of-interest thing with me working at the station ... maybe I'll put a link up to it somehow once it's finished ...
